Loraine,
I can only provide feedback about my own use of pancreatic enzymes, which
has been nothing short of amazing.

Food allergies run on my husband's side of the family. My youngest child is
now 14 mos old and has been dealing with multiple food sensitivities since
she was 4 months old. She was exclusively breastfed until she showed signs
of readiness for solids around the 8-9th month. Her symptoms (either through
breastmilk or with direct contact to foods) have included hives, severe
eczema, swelling, wheezing, etc. We carry an epi-pen for her just in case.
After doing some holistic allergy testing when she was appox 6 mos old I
went on a restricted diet for her. After about 6-8 weeks her symptoms began
to improve. I continued to eliminate potential allergens from my diet and
she has continued to heal and improve.

The baby and I also take a variety of supplements (EFA's, probiotics, etc,
etc...). Until recently I was taking some digestive enzymes but they were
not pancreatic enzymes. I started using pancreatic enzymes about 3 weeks ago
and I can tell a big difference. I even tested them out by "cheating" on the
diet and having a tad bit of wheat/dairy. She did not have her normal
reactions. Amazing. I am taking a brand from our ND, "Vital Nutrients" and
have not taken any other brands to compare them with.

On a side note I was happy to see the new Riordan text acknowledge
Pancreatic enzyme therapy as a possible aid for colic symptoms. I know it
has been a tremendous help in my personal journey to healing and helping my
daughter's sensitivities and allergies and I hope other providers will begin
to explore and acknowlege this therapy.
