no she was told to give a bottle and that she CAN NOT breastfeed while on the plane. she understood that the baby had to be in her lap, not in the seat belt for take off and landing, but the plane had not even been fully boarded yet, and she was breastfeeding her baby so that for take off she would have a conent infant....i wish it were just a sling thing, but she was told that she could not breastfeed on the plane.

My understanding is that you are not allowed to have a baby in a sling when the plane is taking off. You are supposed to hold the baby in a certain position (I think it is with the baby vertical, against your chest, head at your shoulder but I could be wrong - I'm trying to remember what the flight attendant said the last time I flew with my daughter-in-law and grandchild). So it may not have been about the breastfeeding at all, the problem may just have been that the baby is supposed to be held a certain way during take off (and landing, too, I think).
