I would be asking Pedi for the evidence to support this statement. There
isn't any. By what logic does he conclude that mother's milk suddenly
becomes protein deficient and cow's milk the appropriate choice for a HUMAN
baby?
This guy is just wrong. Many many babies thrive on human milk *alone* well
into their second YEAR of life. I would be encouraging this mum to
breastfeed frequently, monitor the baby carefully and respond to a problem
if and only if one arises.
Furthermore, if this pedi IS suggesting cow's milk protein for a highly
allergic baby ... Get a new pedi.
