Hi Everyone,
Our local Public Health Dept. is putting together emergency preparedness Birth-
in-Place kits that can be loaned to pregnant women in the event of a natural
disaster. These kits will be placed in local clinics in case pregnant women need
to deliver there instead of at a hosptal. The question that has arose is the
best type of formula (power vs. liquid) to be placed in these kits, along with
manual pumps, etc. I thought I read a while ago on Lactnet that a huge
amount of bottled water is needed per day if moms are formula feeding during
a natural disaster/emergency situation. Can someone better informed than me
in this area give me some suggestions on the best way to proceed with this,
so that breastfeeding is optimally supported?

Thanks for your help!
