I am NOT a researcher, so my suggestion may not be helpful. Perhaps the
tack to take is to look for studies that discuss the impact of skin-to-skin,
and "attachment" styles of parenting (both in the waking *and* sleeping
hours) as the means to better social adjustment. There were some fabulous
presentations at ILCA 2009: Helen Ball on parenting at night (co-sleeping);
Lauren Porter on attachment as the foundation of relationships. BF is a
critical component. The overall mental and physical well-bring of an
infant/child requires more than breastfeeding ... so maybe it will be easier
to find research that explores what we human mammals need to be
well-adjusted, and then explain how BF fits into that model.
