This woman may face 5 years in prison. Who will benefit from that? Who will=
be better off?
Not the woman herself, for she will be put in the influence of real crimina=
ls. If she learns anything there, it is not to become a better person or a =
better mom. Not the child, who will probably end up in ''the system'' and n=
ot very much good ever comes from that. Not the society, because taxpayers =
will have to pay for the woman's stay and the child's care.=20
Nursing under influence of alcohol is said to be prohibited for the good of=
the child. Is this child better of with a mom in jail or with an incidenta=
l breastmilk-cocktail from a loving mom who will probably be caring well fo=
r her at all other times?
I even can see some harrasment of universal child rights in putting mom inj=
ail and preventing the child from breastfeeding.
