Dear June,

I have moms put a drop of breastmilk on their finger (several drops pre
manually expressed in a shallow container can be at the ready for finger dipping,
especially if it takes more than one application) and put this on baby's
lower lip which then gets baby to drop his tongue to seek the milk on his lower
lip. Doing this before every latch sometimes helps. It's a non invasive way
to teach baby where his tongue belongs for latching.
I find Rachel's post about labor meds most interesting.
