I just had a quick read through the survey (since I'm not in the US I didn't
complete it). I found some of the questions to be rather leading and there
was one very important inaccuracy in question 3....the Code may have been
first instituted 25 years ago but it has been continually updated since then
via subsequent WHA resolutions. I've heard the sentiment expressed many
times in the discussion surrounding Medela and their marketing of both
breast pumps and bottles that the Code is outdated, doesn't take into
account modern pressures and new products and so we can't possible be
expected to apply it as it stands. It's more than a little concerning that
this survey seems to be coming from this angle.
