Sorry I have been out of touch, but I am a fairly persistent reader. I want
to wish everyone a joyous holiday season, and I will try not to be so quiet
in the future. Laurie Wheeler provided a terrific list. I just want to add
one tidbit to her Raynaud's suggestion.

Dr. Thomas Hale of Medications and Mothers’ Milk (13th ed, 2008) gives
nifedipine an L2 safe rating (His second highest rating for safety). On p.
692, he states, “Nifedipine has been found clinically useful for nipple
vasospasm. Because of the similarity to Raynaud’s Phenomenon, sustained
release suspensions providing 30-60 mg per day are suggested.”

Particularly during this time of year, Raynaud's patients are in pain 24/7.
This drug is a calcium channel blocker that tends to provide a good amount
of relief, and it would be helpful if mom discussed it with her physician.
