We three wear 'smart casual' and white lab coats, we dont wear scubs because the docs mistook us for nurses constantly and kept asking us to start IVs etc. We started wearing lab coats after we were  mistaken for social workers!
In order to avoid being mistaken for residents we have our names and "Lactation Consultant" embroidered on the lab coat.
