Great blog, Norma.
Pat, Gabrielle Palmer addresses all this in her book, of which the new
edition should be out... well, now, I would say!
We could not buy it yet, when we were in Winchester, England, for the
LCGB-conference, but she said it would be available from the 20th April.
Maybe she has figures you can use and maybe she has suggestions as to how
you can make the calculations for your own area.
She urged all of us to do the math, also for the economic value of bf, of
which the environmental aspects are an important part.
I'm interested in making the calculations for the Netherlands, so I think I
should be heading towards... Amazon or bol.com! hahaha
Good luck!
Bye,
Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands (and proud of being on the Author's
Page at the ILCA-website with our statement against controlled crying! :o))

Curious minds want to know....<
And don't forget the cost of producing the *milk replacer* for feeding the
calf!
Funnily enough, I addressed some of these issues in my blog
