Anne asked why the exemption for religious locations in the new
breastfeeding in public law in Massachusetts. I tried very hard to have
this removed but that provision was the only way the bill would be
passed. Religious protest overruled common sense. We can't always get
everything we want and after 8 years this seemed a small price to pay
to establish protection for our breastfeeding mothers in this state.
The Massachusetts Breastfeeding Coalition wants to print up business
size cards for mothers to carry stating their rights. Does anyone know
of some good examples for us to use? I know they are out there, just
can't remember who has them.
