Up until very recently I worked at a small community hospital in CT. We could enter orders for an ENT consult. The ENT would see the baby during the hospital stay and release the tongue tie right on our unit. It didn't always work that way as there is only one ENT and the peds are not trained in the procedure (but willing to train, it just never happened). Sometimes the family would have to see the ENT during office hours after discharge, but we all did our best to avoid that. This ENT also treats posterior tongue ties.
