Dear Friends:

Francine Ducharme published a paper in Pediatrics in 1994 "Apparent
Insatiability: An unrecognized manifestation of food intolerance in
breast-fed infants", this mother found that a bovine-protein free diet (milk
and beef) brought relief to one of her babies.

Another aspect of this interesting paper is that the author/mother
speculated that when her babies were feeling allergic symptoms, they wanted
to nurse more because nursing was comforting. But the nursing also brought
more milk with allergens in it, so babies wanted to nurse more to feel
better so they got more milk with allergens so they wanted to nurse
more.....

warmly,
Nikki Lee
