I agree with Nikki that therapeutic dosages of herbs is a different issue from food levels, however, many people do ingest food quantities that we might consider medicinal. The thing is, I don't care that much about fenugreek-there are so many other herbs to use. I do use fenugreek, but only in combination with other herbs and usually in combination with other approaches, esp nutritional. I really dislike the idea of throwing a pill at anyone , whether the pill is fenugreek, domperidone or any other. IMO, a more comprehensive support of the mother and her supply should be the standard of care. We shouldn't be using herbs to make up for poor nutrition, for example. After all, that's what must drugs are used for--to mask the symptoms of poor nutrition.
