I don't have any studies to cite, but I have my n = 1 observation: my
son didn't sprout his 2-year molars until he was 3. I cannot imagine
that exclusive breastfeeding that long would have been beneficial for
either of us. (He weaned as his 1-year molars were coming in---at 20
months! Poor kid was in agony because all four emerged at once and
even his cheeks were bruised looking.)
