Just my own experience:
I have two children with many allergies each, most environmental, but some
foods, too.
One is allergic (per testing) to peanuts. The other is not.
I ate peanuts and peanut butter (although never to excess) while pregnant
and breastfeeding both of them. They both ate peanuts and peanut butter as
toddlers, it was not a favorite.
The allergy and symptoms I recognized as allergic reaction did not surface
until post traumatic stress. We weathered Katrina, immediately following we
weathered a very ugly divorce and relocated. After relocating, both girls
started displaying allergic reaction symptoms I recognized and they were both
tested and are being treated.
None of us eat peanuts or peanut butter anymore. My allergic child does
sometimes try to convince me to allow her eat a chocolate bar with peanuts in
it.... and may eat some when I am not with her.

Subject: info on peanut allergies and bf
A colleague who is not on lactnet has asked me to post for her:
Does anyone have information, references, on peanut allergies and bf,
including eating (or not eating) peanuts in pregnancy? She has had
several questions about it recently among bf and pregnant moms, but
has not found much literature on the topic.
In addition to posting your replies on the list, please email: Diana

Thank you,
Naomi
