I think you may be referring to the work of Thom Hartmann. He formulated the
hunter vs farmer hypothesis of attention difference. Thom is the author of
Attention Deficit Disorder: A Different Perception (1993) and Beyond ADD:
Hunting for Reasons in the Past and Present (1996) as well as other books. Thom
is also the host of the The Thom Hartmann Show on Air America radio.
