THC, the active ingredient, would still be present, regardless of the
purity. And with medicinal use, it would probably be happening on a regular
basis which would actually be more cause for concern rather than just the
occasional joint. The fact is, marijuana does have negative effects on lung
health when inhaled, possible effects on the brain when used long-term,
whether it is inhaled or ingested, and gets into breastmilk regardless of
how it is taken into the body.

Whether the effects on the infant are worse than the effects of formula
ingestion has not been proven. Many factors would need to be taken into
consideration.
