Does anyone have any good references for a mother (who was already
diagnosed) with Group B Strep +, who is strongly considering a c-section
because she has been told it has less risk.
She wants to breastfeed, but has been told that if she has a vaginal
delivery, she and the baby will be on antibiotics and if she has even a
slight fever, they will be separated. She typically runs a warmer body
temperature. Her due date is Oct 11.
I know my gut instinct, but I need some information to educate myself better
and be able to guide her.
Thank you,
Leigh Erdos, BA, IBCLC, RLC
