Hi Friends,
With permission to post. This mama is 6 mos. pg. and has just received a one-
day-old adopted baby. Baby latching beautifully, using SNS at breast with
formula, pumping "as often as she can" which appears to be 3x day or so. So
far no milk harvested from pumping. She is doing this with her OBs permission.
Her hx. is of having nursed a baby with Down's Syndrome -first 6 wks with
very sore nipples; persisted and nursed this baby through her next pg. and
tandem for a number of months with baby #2. Has not lactated for at least
three years.
She is hoping to bring in supply while still pg. and to feed adoptive baby and
next born baby tandem as well.
Any specific cautions or recommendations?
Specific dietary recommendations? What might we expect to see for a supply
while pg?
Such a delightful and committed mama!
