Thank you, Dawn, for your sweet words!
It was very nice indeed. The house and the practice were decorated with
flowers and candles, champagne on the table, lots of people present, the
name shield next to the practice door revealed by our four wonderful
daughters... I felt rich and blessed and strong, after having struggled
through losses and mourning for many years. I now feel vibrant, even to the
point of exuberance, with loads of ideas.
I was invited to write a piece for the IBLCE-e-newsletter about to be sent,
as I turned out to be the fourth highest scorer in Europe and the
Middle-East this year! After so many years of not being able to study due to
emotional turmoil, this really feels like a victory over my own setbacks, a
phoenix-like feeling, or to stay with my logo: going with the flow and
rising from deep waters, surmounting.
Well... ain't those beautiful analogies for supporting breastfeeding
moms...? ;o)
Warmly,
Marianne Vanderveen IBCLC, Netherlands
