There has been a lot of talk about Vitamin D and human milk / breastfeeding in the past couple years and particularly the last couple weeks.  This is the worst piece I've seen in the media.  Inaccurate and unethical are the thoughts that come to mind.  

More than a scientific misspeak, this article underscores the pervasive language problem that yanks breastfeeding right out of the cultural basis required for the practice to survive.

I'm surprised to see the tone of the article in the NYT since some of the most thoughtful pieces I've read have also appeared in the Times.  Still, breastfeeding continues to be misspelled and as always that misunderstanding speaks volumes.  Good thinking should come before style sheets, sensationalism, and sales.
