I was wondering how many of you work in a doctor's office (ped or ob/gyn) that actually *has* and *uses* Thomas Hale (not counting breastfeeding clinics, private practice, etc, because I'm assuming you have Medications and Mothers Milk).
I am so frustrated hearing about moms being told, incorrectly, that they can't breastfeed on a certain medication. I helped a mom get back on track with breastfeeding yesterday after she pumped and dumped and formula fed her 4 week old while she was on a week's course of antibiotics, both L2. She was told later by a different doctor that yes she could breastfeed on these meds.
I told my pharmacist at Target about Hale's MMM and she ordered it and consults it all the time (no financial interest, just a very valuable resource).
So how many of you work in a setting where the ob/gyn or ped has the resourse to give correct information when prescribing to their breastfeeding patients? Just curious.
