Dear all
IBFAN-GIFA recently published a great little booklet written by Lida
Llotska called Whatever happened to Health for All? Ups and downs of
protection of breastfeeding, regulation of transnational corporations
and Health for All. Gabrielle Palmer helped with editing. It looks
like a very useful resource for those of us interested in the
politics and policies related to breastfeeding and I will find it
good for our BF advocacy efforts. It focuses on the protection of BF
in the global and UN context. Particular attention is paid to the
Alma Ata agreement signed, would you believe? 30 years ago, and
argues for public forces to come together once again due to a unique
potential to facilitate the comprehensive achievement of children's
and women's right to health.
I have permission to let you know that the English version has been
now posted at http://www.gifa.org/files/protection.pdf and feedback
would be welcomed.
Enjoy!
