Please ignore this suggestion if you have already tried it...
If the baby will only nurse lying down, then start out in that
position, with a couple of extra pillows behind your head - not
resting your head on them!
After the baby has settled into nursing steadily, very gradually inch
your way back onto the extra pillows so that your head is a little
higher - just a tiny bit. If baby objects, slide down again. This will
probably work best if baby is half asleep.
Over the course of the next days/weeks, keep inching up, bit by bit,
being ready to move down an increment if/when baby fusses. Think of
this as a gentle mother-led weaning process, always responding to
baby's cues. It won't happen overnight, but patience is a virtue :)
