It need to be absolutely clear...the value of breastpumps in particular
circumstances is not in question, the value of bottles in particular
circumstances is not in question either....however, marketing of bottles to
parents is unethical, marketing of breastpumps so that breastfeeding is
undermined is also problematic. The question is should those who seek to
support breastfeeding women promote companies that market bottles
unethically or market pumps in a way that undermines breastfeeding??

Joanne,
I agree with you. I am the mother of 5 children, who are all grown now, but
as
a RN I had to return to work 6 wks after their births, and because I was
able
to use a GOOD breastpump(Medela), I successfully breastfed all of my
children
for 18 mo - 2 yrs. Yes, they took my EBM in a bottle when I was seperated
from them (with the exception on my middle child who drank from a cup from
6wks when he was seperated from me.
I think you can look at any company and find they are not perfect, because
we do not live in a perfect world. I feel Medela does all it can to promote
breastfeeding.
