I recently read a Consumer Report article about when to buy organic and when it's ok not to. That article said that fruits that have a skin like pineapple, oranges, bananas one would be fine not to buy organic b/c the pesticides are in the peel which we don't eat and the the skin or peel protects the fruit from absorbing pesticides.
Margo
who has a latex allergy and has to watch her intake of bananas (no problem, I don't like them), papaya, mango, kiwi and avocado (which is really hard b/c I love these) and has to sometimes leave the room if there's a party going on with lots of balloons. I remember a LLL conference where they used a very good analogy of a blown up balloon for breast compressions or comparing breast size/shape or something and I had to leave (hence my not remembering exactly what it was for). About 150 - 200 Leaders in a room blowing up latex balloons and I couldn't breathe!!
