Rose asks:
A client called and wanted to know about some herbal medicines for her
psorasis, she is wanting to know if she can take 1. Alpha Lipoic Acid, 2.
Oregano oil,
3. Primrose oil.
(permission to post)
Alpha Lipoic Acid is not an herbal supplement--it is a fatty acid manufactured by the body. It is generally safe to use, but I wonder if this is being prescribed or if she is using this on her own. It is a powerful antioxidant and treats skin problems effectively, but I would still hope she is getting direction on dosing.
Evening primrose oil is safe.
In what form is the mom taking oil of oregano? It is a highly volatile oil and is a very powerful antibiotic and antifungal. Most folks do just fine with the capsules which tend to be already diluted in olive oil. In my experience, internal use by mom is perfectly fine (I have taken it while bfing), but I do not like application to the nipples.
