I'm on the West Coast of Canada in BC, but also lived in Southeastern Canada,
in Ontario, for many many years and got my start as a breastfeeding expert
there.
From my experience, the only official mother-to-mother support with a focus
on breastfeeding here in Canada is La Leche League...but...some communities
do have their own systems, such as buddy-to-buddy and community outreach
services.
Here in BC (and in some of the other provinces) there are some great services
in which mother-to-mother support happens naturally, but the focus is not
breastfeeding. One such program is Healthy Beginnings - run by public health
and the other is the Parent-Child Mother Goose Program - run by community
outreach and/or public health.
Blessings!
