Hi Jaye,
From the studies I've found in pub med there is no correlation between the 
amount of iron moms consume (it may be dangerous) and what is passed onto 
the infant via breastmilk.  It seems the mammary gland allows only a certain 
percentage of iron/lactoferrin as well as other trace minerals to pass thru.  
This is laymans terms and I cut and tried to paste you the article.  I hate  
computers!  Anyway, from what I found was you can't increase moms iron and 
have it pass on to a baby.  Is that what you are basically asking?
