I love asking a class (parents or health professionals) why they think
babies need to be breastfed - then after they have enthsiatically shared all
the wonderful "advantages" of breastfeeding I politely disagree - saying I
don't believe there are any benefits at all. At first they think I'm
joking, but then a go on to discuss that breastfeeding is simply the way
babies were designed to be nourished and nurtured and then Wessingerise some
of the "benefits" that they have brought up.

It is also important to point out that formula is usually maufactured from
cow's milk (often a surprise to many)...... that it creates a different gut
flora etc and is not sterile (we only have powdered formula here). I
sometimes give examples of the reasons why batches of formula are comtimes
recalled.
