I picked up a brochure for mothers from Medela over the weekend at an Australian Breastfeeding Assoc conference. The booklet is about 50 pages and is titled "Breastfeeding For a happy healthy baby. You will find everything you need to know in this guide" Inside it contains information about breastfeeding that's a bit patchy in quality IMO and also photographs and information about Medela products including their bottles in clear breach of the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes. First time I've seen Medela breaches (outside of their website) in Australia. The lovely sales rep had never heard of the Code. Isn't this wonderful.
Now I wonder how many organisations who say they support the Code will continue to promote Medela. How about you write to those with whom you have an association to ask.
