Ladies,
I have a friend at work (posting with her permission) who came to me wanting
info on relactation. Her baby is 10 months old, breastfed from birth to 2
months, then mom stopped because of work. The baby has had feeding
problems - constant crying, colic symptoms, etc since that time. Baby has
also had numerous bouts of ear infections, "colds" etc. At present, she has
blisters and sores in and around her mouth, and is being referred to an
immunologist and an oncologist for evaluation. The ped seems to think there
are immune system problems. Mom asked the ped about relactaing and would
it help, and was told that it sure couldn't hurt. The ped was uncertain what to
do to help her from a pharmacological standpoint. I advised mom to start
pumping q 2 ASAP, and I'd get back with her on what else she could do.
Thanks so much for your help!!! Deb
