Hi All!
I am in private practice in seattle and I have had a couple of requests lately
from LC candidates who want to intern with me as part of one of the
pathways through IBLCE. I have had people "shadow" me before, but never
this official, long term relationship that is going to require quite a bit of effort
on my part. I would be taking the intern through the whole process, from her
observing me, to me observing her and evaluating, etc. I am a single mom
and my practice IS my income. So I need to be compensated for my time.
Questions to the group are numerous! Does anyone have experience doing
this? How do we figure out fair compensation? Are there any models out
there or are we just beginning to invent this wheel? (I'm used to that!) How
does this work, ethically, when clients are wanting to hire ME and get an
intern helping them instead? ANY suggestions/experiences welcome. feel free
to email me off list. I'd love to chat with you!
Thank you!
