Robin, this came up in discussion on lact-net last year sometime, after
someone reported the mothers in a country they were working in/heard of,
all used peppermint water.
The problem at the time, IIRC, was that no one could identify how the
water was made, and so there were issues about would the baby avoid the
nipple if it was too strong etc. I do remember someone trying to
decipher a text they'd read. I'm think it was a mainly Arabic
population that was the area under discussion (but maybe not!)
So what I'm interested in from this study is... what did they mean by
pepermint water! Strength etc? And was there an effect on the babies?
