As I understand it, SIDS stats from another country will not be
helpful. Rates
vary a great deal due to cultural factors (like bedsharing) as well as
the fact that
SIDS is defined as an unexplained infant death during sleep. If you
can explain
it, it's not SIDS, and some physicians are better at figuring out
causes of
death (or live illnesses) than others. There are great variations in
SIDS rates
in the US as well, partially for this reason. Depends on who is doing
the
diagnosing of the cause of death.
If I am mistaken in this, I hope someone with more expertise than I will
set me (and us) straight.
