Christie, I'm a huge fan of probiotics as well, but I don't see how
maternal supplementation can impact baby's digestion. Probiotics work
in the gut and shouldn't enter Mom's plasma, which is a prerequisite
for transfer into milk.
So, am I misunderstanding their function or something else? Many of
the midwives I know recommend maternal supplementation, but I don't
think there's much basis for it (insofar as assisting baby's digestion
is concerned).
Christie, perhaps your third son simply wasn't as intolerant as the other two?
Just my thoughts I've been thinking of them recently...
