Hi Liz,
I have a couple of thoughts. I don't know the baby's birthweight, but I
would generally be happy with the 2 and 2.5 oz intake that you observed at 2
different visits.
I agree to discontinue the micronor, and to use a galactagogue, maybe an
herbal tincture. But is it really necessary at this point?
It seems mother has a good pumping session in a.m. Can't she store this milk
for use when at work and just nurse, nurse, nurse the rest of the day? Why
is she using it to supplement baby?
Perhaps she is having a letdown issue with the pump she is using? Could she
try a different pump, a different flange, or hand expression alone or prior
to pumping? Does she need to pump several times a day,? Is the weight gain
ok with just increased bf? Baby is waking at night 2x? I think that is very
normal. Are there other factors that could affect supply like stress at
home, other meds, thyroid or anemia?
