the green staining on the cord, you can tell your client is because mec goes
everywhere. Anything soft like the cord will look green. Meconium clings to
the umbilical cord, fingernails and anything that is whitish will have greenish
look to it. Only blood, one vein and two ateries with wartons jelly is
actually "in" the umbilical cord. Blood carrying oxygen to and from baby along
with nutrients, and waste products from baby.
And yes to Lauri, vigourous infants are not suctioned. Unless something has
changed lately.
