Yes, several times. The baby is irratic. He is taking in between 1/2 oz to 2 oz
per breast, usually one breast per feeding.

always the same scale?
Mom said yes, but I have weighed him both times, the same day as the Ped.
Once it was an ounce under Ped's weight, and once it was an OZ over, so my
guess is they are not using the same scale. It is a very large office, lots of
docs ect.

Just a diaper. I leave the same diaper on for the pre and post feed weighs.
(I've weighed the diaper alone, they barely weigh 1/2 oz when new.) Doctor
also weighs with diaper.
Mom is getting rather nervous with the post feed weighs. I wanted to do one
last night. The baby cries when he is naked, or even in just a diapers, and she
didn't want to upset him. So, she declined a post feed weigh. (Also, did not
want him weighed at all today, saying she needed to go get the Fenugreek.
*sigh*)
She wants to wait for the Doctor's visit, next Tuesday, and I am a little
worried about degrading supply in the ensuing week, if this baby doesn't get a
little more aggresive at the breast. (He clamps a lot, but gets comfortable so
easily at the breast, so quickly, and then is nearly impossible to rattle, even if
he is wide awake.)
He was a really quiet baby at first, (took him 3 days to "wake up") and he is
really alert now, and she is trying to "figure out" why he doesn't sleep as much
as some of the books say. Also, just a few days ago, she was thinking he was
sleeping "too much."
I have suggested some more hints, she wants to try some Fenugreek and says
she will try to pump to increase supply (after the doc's visit, but I will try to
persuade her sooner.) From what I am seeing, this is really a "Waiting for the
LetDown" baby, and he gets so comfy nursing, he just hangs out, as soon as
he takes the edge off his hunger. He is not, IMO, acting like he is voracious, or
frantic at all. He *wants* the breast, and lets her know, and she is getting
really good at picking up his signals, but is a very analytical, logical person,
spent most of her life in the Corporate World (she's 43) solving finite problems,
and this baby don't know about "logic" yet. :)
Thank you for your input.
