Hello,
We are seeing more MRSA+ moms. We are a level 2 facility, so our babies
are least 34 weeks EGA , no vents, no NICU. We would like to develop
standard procedures for managing breastfeeding/pumping/storing when moms
go home but babies stay. Does anyone have any policies or procedures for
how to manage:
1. Using breastmilk from MRSA+ moms
Is the breastmilk tested? Is the baby tested? If the milk is
positive, but the baby is not, does the baby still get the milk?
2. How is the milk stored? Dropped in a zip lock, then bagged again and
stored with other moms' milk?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
