>Hi All,
>
>A former client of mine is starting the process of adopting an infant and
>had some unique questions for me. She's currently breastfeeding an 18-month
>old and plans to tandem nurse her adopted infant. She's not sure how much
>contact the infant will have with his/her birth mother following the birth,
>but she assumes the baby will go directly to a nursery immediately after
>birth, then to her. She wondered if there was any risk to her or her
>tandem-nursing toddler from the adopted infant, such as HIV, hepatitis, and
>so on. My resources cover diseases transmittable from mom to baby, but not
>reverse. Any worries/precautions?
