Hello Lactnetters,
I just wanted to yell and shout I passed. Also, to congradulate all my sisters
that were there with me. I came away with alot of respect for the exam and
and left not having a clue of how I did. I'm sure many of you had the same
experience.
I have been following Lactnet for some time. I find it a great resourse. I also
wanted to pipe in on women that pump rather than breastfeed. I have several
that take that route and for various reasons. I suggest that they hold their
babies skin to skin at least some periods of the day and tell them I don't know
how long they will be successful but to call with any concerns. I don't know
why it is so difficult for some. I do alot of skin to skin in my practice. I even
hand out a study for new moms to read and understand. Most enjoy it. There
is always the exception. I wish that there were a way to instill these moms to
enjoy their babies more. I know we live in a society and most economically
have to return to work in 6 weeks I have had some one and two weeks. But,
the time goes so fast and you just can't get that back.
Again, Congradulations to all of the new IBCLC's.
Terri Klein
