The hospital where I work rents pumps from the pharmacy. It's quite possible a mother could rent a pump and never get appropriate help with it or the situation for which she needed it.
(Not every mother who gives birth at this hospital is seen by an IBCLC. We just see the ones having trouble.)
So we've asked the pharmacy to put a sticker inside each pump case that says:
If you have a question about the pump itself,
call the pharmacy at ___________.
If you have questions about breastfeeding or pumping,
Call the hospital IBCLCs at ________________
Or La Leche League at __________________ .
It just gets the contact info out at a time they may need it.
I wonder if you could do the same with Babies R Us & their rental pumps?
