The need for getting the Breast Is No Longer Best message out there as
well as we possibly can, is starkly drawn today in Mike Brady's blog:
http://boycottnestle.blogspot.com/2008/09/first-choice.html
Aptamil have moved the 'breastfeeding is best for babies' line, up to
the very top of their adverts, and made it a much bigger font size.
It's now a 'proud declaration'.
Just today, in fact, I saw a post by an Australian women who was annoyed
with a formula milk advert on Australian tv, and who went to the website
to find it was "very breastfeeding friendly" and had "tons of good
info", and how she now felt happier about the adverts. :-(
Reading between the lines, the culpability here is even more immense, as
it was, no doubt, a follow-on milk ad, not a formula one!!! (As it's
Australia.)
When the forces of commercialisation are using "Breast is best" in large
type and at the top of cans of modified cow's milk... gotta stop using
it....
