Hi All,

I have a question: My information says that babies from 6-12 months really
should be gaining on average 2-4 ounces per week. But - I have a Ped who
has plotted the charts and such with a 9 month old who has gained only 6
ounces in the past 3 months and says this is just fine. (he currently
weighs 20 pounds and is 29in long) Baby has been sick a lot this winter
season - he is fed about 50/50 EBM/ABM (mom cannot produce more than that).
He eats solids 3 times a day, is a happy kid and is well adjusted. What she
was worried about is the fact that he's not going from laying to sitting on
his own and he's not pulling up. She said those are milestones she thinks he
should have hit, so she is sending them to a developmental specialist.
Personally, I am less concerned about the gross motor skills as his fine
motor skills and language skills are quite advanced.

Mom is now adding 1 teaspoon of coconut oil to a bottle once per day (not
sure where she got that idea) to increase his calories (he HATES avocados.)
and is interested in a more appropriate dose and more appropriate high fat
nutrient dense foods.

Thoughts? After 4 nights of being sick, yet again, and getting little sleep
my brain is MUSH.ugh. Help?

Thanks in advance.
