Just a heads up. I just saw a piece on MSNBC about the infant mortality rates
in the US and how bad it is compared to other countries. During the interview
Robert Brazell was reporting about the health care sysytem in the US and how
it may be a link with infant mortality.
That is another issue, but during the report he had a video of infants in
hospital nurseries being fed formula. No mention at all about breastfeeding.
I already wrote a letter about how they missed an opportunity to show a link
between infant mortality rates and breastfeeding.
They reported these numbers from 2004 so not sure why it was talked about
today.
If this is going to be a talking point over the next few news cycles (although
with the dow losing so much today that may be the only time we hear about
it), we need to make sure we are on top of this issue and respond to each
report.
Thanks,
