Whoa! Imagine my surprise when I reviewed my Medscape blurb advertising a
CME activity entitled "Strategies for Successful Breast-feeding are
Reviewed." Coming from a Jul 2008 article in the American Family Physican
journal. That hyphen always sets off red flags for me. BUT -- check out
language like this in the very first paragraph: "Infants who are exclusively
formula-fed have higher incidence of diarrhea, otitis media, respiratory
tract infection, urinary tract infections and bacterial infections.
Premature formula-fed infants lack the developmental benefits that have been
seen in excluivesly breastfed infants." Quoting a doc, no less! Go to
www.medscape.com/viewarticle/577904_print for more. Better still, send the
docs and RNs in your facility -- tell them there are CMEs/CEUs to be had!
