I am reading a book entitled "The Social Transformation of American Medicine,
The rise of a sovereign profession and the making of a vast industry" by Paul
Starr. The book is winner of the 1984 Pulitzer Prize for general non-fiction and
contains this gem as quoted from History of American Pediatrics by Thomas E.
Cone, Jr. " ..in feeding babies, two substantial mammary glands are more
useful than the two hemispheres of a professor's brain," Oliver Wendell Holmes.
I thought you'd all enjoy this--I did! Happy World Breastfeeding Week!!
